Sometimes the state of the world gets to be so heavy, so overwhelming that we get paralyzed. Right now, every time we turn on the news we find new ways to be shocked, to feel helpless and, the worst feeling of all, powerless. We stand in front of our screens in awe of the tragic scenes before us and we can’t help but feel small. What can we do? How can we help when we’re so far away? When I’m just one person?
One of the good things modern technology has given us is the opportunity to help important causes with a few clicks from every corner of the world. And this, this is a very important cause. We, at The Top 3, want to do our part. Pausing for a few minutes our usual content in order to share a few ways to help during the Ukranian crisis.
The Voices of Children Foundation has been helping children affected by the war since 2015. Thanks to donors from all over the world, they provide psychological and psychosocial support to children. It helps them overcome the consequences of armed conflict and develop. Today, during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, they are providing non-stop assistance to affected children and families from all over the country, providing emergency psychological assistance, and assisting in the evacuation process.
Caritas Ukraine is one of the largest international networks of charitable organizations in the world and in Europe. Over 26 years, hundreds of thousands of needy Ukrainians have received material, social, psychological and legal assistance through our work. Facing the issues of today, all Caritas Ukranian offices, except those in active hostilities, are working to provide assistance to internally displaced persons and vulnerable people. Employees are ready to provide help and support. Most of the 36 local Caritas offices, as well as the National Offices in Kyiv and Lviv, continue to operate, depending on the situation – offline or online, all current programs are modified according to the situation in a particular region.
Ukraine Crisis Media Center (UCMC) was created to support Ukraine’s statehood and to promote Ukraine abroad. Non-governmental organization Ukraine Crisis Media Center was launched in the spirit of the Revolution of Dignity in March 2014 as a rapid response to the Russian occupation of Crimea with an objective to defend Ukraine’s sovereignty and its national interests in the global information space. Since its inception, UCMC has evolved into the international strategic communications hub with active outreach to audiences both in Ukraine and abroad. Today, they work hard to keep the world updated on the Russian invasion of the country with facts, images and videos.
